Leavin' on a Jet Plane

Now on to some pictures and descriptions of our whirlwind trip across America last week. Matt went out to San Diego for Dan and Wendy's wedding on the 17th. It sounded so great and left me jealous that I wasn't there too! I'll take any chance for a family reunion and am bummed I didn't get to see the entire Singer crew.
Matt, Phil, Dan, Nate--the Singer boys
We planned to leave on the 22nd to fly to Oregon for their reception and to spend a week with Matt's parents. My parents called on the 18th to let me know that Aunt Ginna had died. Bless her heart...she's been in a nursing home about 18 months now and has not been in good shape for even longer. I'm grateful for her to finally be released from pain and loneliness. Aunt Ginna had been a widow for 30+ years and had no children--we were really her only family, so all of kids wanted to be there for the funeral.

So...change of plans.
We left snowy, cold Connecticut on Wednesday the 21st and flew to St. Louis. The funeral was Thursday. It was really quite nice, I think she would have been pleased. Mom and I spoke about her life and memories and Casey spoke about the Plan of Salvation.
After the funeral, we went to the cemetery. She was buried next to her husband and near my Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Butch. It was nice getting back to see their headstones as well and to show the kids. Here are some pictures from the cemetery.
At the mention of a picture being taken, Andrew started crying, bolted across the cemetery and hid behind a tree. We had one tired boy.

A picture of the whole family. It doesn't happen too often.

The rest of the day was spent having a luncheon, visiting family and letting the kids play with their cousins.
We left Friday morning and headed to Oregon for wedding celebration and fun. The trip continues....
