22 days....

Not attempting to complain, merely trying to document the craziness of our past 3 weeks.  I don't think we've ever had this much continuous sickness in our house.

Day 1-3:  Andrew home with high fever and no energy.  On the couch all three days.
Day 3:  Mary began complaining that she felt yuck.
Day 4:  Andrew's fever broke but just complained his legs hurt; Mary still felt off and stayed home from school;  I felt horrible and slept on the couch all day while Andrew was feeling better and Mary wasn't all the way down.  A perfect day for my sickness actually.
Day 5:  Andrew woke up and crawled to the stairs because he couldn't walk.  Panicky parents.  Got into the doctor and tested positive for the flu.  They said the non-walking was related.  By late afternoon he was hobbling around the house.
Day 6: Stayed home from church with Mary and Andrew (who woke up not walking again but was moving by mid-morning).  Mary's fever spiked high.
Day 7-8:  Mary home from school.  Fever gone all day on day 8.
Day 9:  Everyone went to school.  We thought life was getting back to normal.  Mary got off the bus with a high fever and re-visited her friend, the couch.
Day 10:  High winds in the night meant power outage til noon and school cancelled on this day.  Ok, I guess since Mary wasn't going anyway.  Mary was feeling much better--we even ventured out in the afternoon.  By evening, Matt was in bed feeling gross.
Day 11:  Matt in bed all day.
Day 12-13:  Matt gradually started feeling better; it was the weekend and all the rest of us were doing well.  I took the kids with me to the blood drive at church and gave blood.  We went to the library and had a fun Saturday.  Sunday we all went to church without Matt.  Annie became snotty on Sunday.
Day 14-16:  High fever Annie, on the couch with virtually no food or movement all 3 days.  Sad.  I started having uncomfortable tingling in my arm and hand.  Bruise from giving blood was covering entire forearm.  Called Red Cross to learn that the needle probably brushed a nerve and I would have nerve irritation for a few days to a few weeks.
Day 17:  Whitney stayed home from school with high fever.  Both little girls now on couches.  In the meantime, doing some preparations for Winter Storm Nemo coming the next day.
Day 18-19:  Whitney still on couch but by day 19 seeming a bit peppier. Annie on couch off and on.  Low fevers.  Storm Nemo comes day 18 and 19 dumping 33 inches of snow on our town.  Took all day digging out on Saturday.  Girls felt good enough to play outside like 25 minutes and then both were on the couches again by evening.
Day 20:  Annie woke up with lots of ear drainage and pain and high fever again;  Whit woke up with high fever.  Stayed home with those 2 and my painful arm while Matt, Mary and Andrew went to church.  They slept on the couches all day.  Matt came home and then left again to help friends with snow removal.
Day 21:  Doctor visit.  Both Whit and Annie tested positive for Strep Throat (definitely surprising).  Annie has an ear infection;  Whit woke up with an eye infection.  Both on antibiotics and on couches most of they day.  For family night, we played charades (with the intent they would stay laying down and just guess) and both girls were up and participating.  Annie ate multiple bowls of chips like she hadn't seen food in days (because she hadn't).  Feeling hopeful.
Day 22:  Today.  Everyone woke up smiling; no fevers.  Little girls went to the kitchen and actually ate breakfast.  No one has been on a sofa even yet.  Feeling grateful.
