All the kiddos were squirmy, probably even the mouse (in the shed...another story)
The stockings were hung on the railing with care
Until Whitney ripped them down, with her attitude flair.
And all the kids in their new pajamas so sweet
Were getting ready for bed, for Christmas eve sleep.
When right up the stairs there was Andrew a coughin'
I sprang over to him as he started barfin'.
Away to the toilet I flew like a flash
Lifted up the lid, and shoved his face in fast.
When what else to my wondering eyes did appear
But Whit in an overtired tantrum severe.
So I threw her in bed, so lively and quick
Then returned to the boy who was suddenly sick
More rapid than eagles, the insanities came
So I shouted out orders to all just the same.
"Come Mary!" "Come Andrew!" "Come Matt!" "Come all!"
"Change those jammies, clean up!" was my loud beckoning call.
The cleaning began and the clothes, they were changed,
But unfortunately puke ended up down the drain.
It was time to wash hands and we realized "oh no!"
The drain is now clogged. . .this night's got to go.
I was frustrated, tired, and not a happy elf,
But I laughed when I saw this all, in spite of myself.
Matt spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And fixed that darn drain, no he didn't shirk.
Finally laying down, those kids decided to sleep,
So Santa could make his visit in peace.
And Matt and I crashed on the sofa just right
Thinking "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night."

Oh my goodness- that is the funniest post ever- and I'm sorry that it's true! What a mess... I'm glad you guys are such good sports!
Merry Christmas!
Hahaha-you are so creative! So sorry though-that is awful! I am g;ad you survived though! Hope the next day was a wonderful and Merry Christmas.
Probably a much more accurate rendition of The Night Before Christmas for anyone who has kids.
That should make it into the blog post Hall of Fame. So are you all sick now?
I love it and have to agree most likely one of the most accurate 'Nights Before Christmas' than most.
Sounds like a fantastic Christmas!!
I'm still laughing! A lot more calm around here--we were so tired we waited for Christmas morning to have our "Christmas Eve". Maybe you should try it sometime--a lot calmer in the morning than in the evening!
That was a very clever post, my dear. Too funny. I'm sorry that poor Andrew was so sick but I'm hoping everyone is feeling better now. Miss you!
