Poopy head, Butt, Stupid, Toilet, Poop, Dumb (need I go on)
I was getting tired of hearing these words, and to be honest, they've gotten a little out of control at this house. I'd like to believe that our house runs in the normal category for having potty mouth aged children, however, something needed done.
I got an idea from a friends facebook status so, for Family Night last night, I brought out a big roll of toilet paper. That definitely made the kids curious.
We talked about language and why it's important to use good words. Then we made a list of all the words we needed to flush down the toilet at this house. I'm sure you have an idea of what kind of words we wrote. They really enjoy the moment of literally flushing them down the toilet. Good-bye words. I'd say that overall, it was pretty effective
Andrew laughed the entire time--every word that was said brought more laughter.
Whitney, it seems, knows the most potty words and kept coming up with idea after idea. Even this morning she told me that she thought of a few more. (hee hee hee)
We set up some consequences and so far, mid-afternoon the next day, I haven't heard a single one of those words, with one exception.
I think I'll be spending some serious time in trouble.
And I wonder where my kids got it from.
Geez.

Great idea! We need that lesson at our house.
That's the cutest thing I've ever heard. Wow.
