Swim lessons in Connecticut are always an adventure.
That is especially true when Connecticut is on one of those crazy kicks of never ending rain and high temperatures in the low 70s.
The kids take lessons at a pond with a beach just about a mile from our house. We usually show up 45 minutes or an hour before the lesson for them to just swim and play in the sand. The sun was a rare sight last week, which made lessons nice and cold. Wednesday, the sun finally broke through after some good rain and we headed over to their lesson, only about 15 minutes early b/c of the cold and rain. Given that it was only about 70 degrees out, there weren't too many beach goers. In fact, for a good five minutes, we were the only ones there. Here's a few shots of pre-lesson playing.

I can't believe they are willing to get in that cold, COLD water. And though I get frustrated, I guess I can understand why they won't even try to go under the water. I haven't convinced myself to yet either! We're hoping that it can be a bit warmer this week.

It is amazing to me how tough little kids can be when it comes to hot and cold. Cute pictures!
