Snow, Snow Go Away....Come Again Another Day (or just don't)

Since my camera is still full of snow pictures, I figured we'd just dedicate the month of January to snow related blog themes. The main theme by now is GO AWAY SNOW! We had 2 snow days the week of the gargantuan storm, then last week there were 2 more snow days and 1 late start. If it couldn't get any better, we're expecting another big storm this week. Whoo-hoo! Man oh man, it sure is fun doing this ALL the time. It's so fun shoveling/snow blowing and having NO WHERE to throw the snow. But hey, might as well document what I hope to be the most insane winter of my life.
Whitney is in our snow cave--can you guess what she's doing? Why she's brought in big snowballs to eat of course. What would Whit do if she wasn't eating snow?
Oh yeah, she would sit in the garage and drink from a water bottle. Every single day we have played in the snow, Whit has spent at least 20 minutes sitting alone in the garage drinking a water bottle. She even made herself a nice set-up with comfy chairs and all.

Mary and Andrew on our mound out near the road. It's at least that height, if not higher, now. Good times! As of Friday, they were able to walk all over the yard and only sink down a few inches in the snow--the rest is so packed/iced tight it's like they are walking on the ground.

Our steps up from the driveway to the sidewalk.

I love our skinny path to the front door. It seems to keep getting skinnier.

So we've painted, we've play-dohed, we've made cookies, we've watched movies, we've Lincoln Logged, we've colored, we've played games, we've played dress up, we've read books--oh we've read books. Any ideas for snow days this week? I did pre-emptively buy some contact paper in hopes of redoing the inside of my kitchen cabinets. Let the good times roll!

Its probably not what you want to hear, but today Kent was almost in tears as he proclaimed just how badly he wanted to play in the snow. I don't think in the whole time we lived up there, there was ever a winter like the oneyour experiencing now. yikes! Just think how excited you'll be when spring finally rolls around!

You could make some serious snow caves!
Hey, I bought some toothpicks and small marshmallows for last weeks snow days so the kids could build some sweet houses, but we never got around to them. The roads ended up being fine at noon so we went swimming at the rec center instead.

Good luck!

I still remember one crazy winter that we got tons of snow... nothing like what you guys are experiencing (absolutely insane), but I imagine this will be the one that the kids all remember when they're older. Okay, maybe not Annie...

I am so glad that we don't live in CT!!! :) We have had snow , nothing to even compare to what you guys have had, and I am plenty content with it and happy if we get no more. I can't even imagine all that snow! Good luck!
