As if we didn't have enough snow, we got dumped on again. But we are now a record setting bunch up here in CT--this is the January with the most snow on record for Hartford--whoop whoop to us. Yippeee. Oh boy oh boy, aren't we lucky!
Yesterday we woke up to 18 more inches of pretty--pretty white, pretty crazy, pretty much too much snow that is. Here are a few more pictures trying to capture how much there really is.
Matt's car was practically buried. This feels like dejavu.
This was our old snow cave, right over next to where Matt's car is parked. The plow and additional snow have filled our cave in. It is now just a huge mountain next to our car.
Our path up to the front door. Hard to get good perspective. Let's just say when Annie stands up in our path, it is taller than her.
Matt took extra time yesterday to clear out all the snow where the trash cans are. He had to blow it all forward and then over past his car, adding to our snow cave mountain.
Backyard shot. The snow is up to the middle bar on our swingset. These poles you see are my garden trellis frame--it is 6 feet high but you only see just over 2 feet.
My favorite moment yesterday happened here. The kids trudged through to the backyard and when I went to check on them, Mary had 'climbed' the fence and was in our neighbors backyard. Actually she just took a small step since the snow is only about 6 inches from the top. She did get her leg stuck and I had to rescue her. You only see the top 6 inches along our whole fence line. There is a picnic table somewhere in this shot too, though we never found it.
I did try and feel rejuvinated as a 'snow day mom.' We made snow ice cream!!! So fun (and yummy too!)
1 gallon snow, 1 c. sugar, 1 T. vanilla, and 2 cups milk and voila--ice cream! My untouched backyard suddenly appears to be an endless possibility of deliciousness. :)(thanks Wendy for the fun snow day ideas!)
The biggest 'grrrrrrr' of the storm was that they cancelled school today for some bizarre reason (road and bus related it seems). No other schools around us even had a delay but I guess our school wanted another record too--we're up to 7 snow days!!!

Crazy! But great snow day ideas, especially the icecream.
Hey, where do you get snow ideas from Wendy?!
I cannot belive this! I will no longer complain of our blizzard.
