Walking (or Buried) in a Winter Wonderland

Welcome Winter Storm Benedict
Last night we went to bed and not a flake or a flurry.
At 8:00am we had this:

Holy Heavens!!!!!
It took Matt 1 1/2 hours to do the driveway (and that was with a snowblower). He was done by 9:30ish but the snow hadn't stopped.
We went out to play around 1pm (still snowing)

We are definitely up to about 2 feet by now. The kids thought they were climbing Mt Everest just trying to get up our steps and up to our front door.

Annie could help get snow off the car all day. I had to use the snow shovel there was so much!

We even made a snow cave. (there are 3 kids in there, though you can't tell) It brought back fond childhood memories!

Mary and our neighbor, Sammy. The kids would go from our driveway to the street to the neighbors driveway and back. They really couldn't walk except for on driveways or paths we had shoveled out. Heck, I couldn't walk either.

At the top of Everest! CONQUERORS!!!

Ridiculous!

I attempted to shovel off some of our back deck. I've cleared a path off the deck but it just goes straight out into the yard of 2 feet of snow all around. I don't know who will use my path. :) I finally gave up b/c I couldn't figure out where to go with all of the snow.
It is now 5pm. Matt has just gone out to snow blow again (since his 8am job, it has snow at least 6-8 more inches). By the way, it is STILL SNOWING.

Wow!!!!!!! That is unreal!! We thought our winter was bad, turns out it's mostly just colder than we like. Great job shoveling and plowing. Glad the kids had fun in it!

Holy Crap Marie! Are you moving back to NC yet? I have to admit it looks like a lot of fun. Who gets this much snow to wake up to in the morning. Congrats are in order!
